Are you interested in a class to knit hats for others? Interested in learning new loom knitting techniques? Members of a small group at St. Andrew invite you to participate in this easy-to-learn knitting process that also serves as a good chance to connect with others from church as well as donate the hats to people in need. All hats will be donated to area charitable organizations.
Class participants will be both those who have no or limited loom knitting experience, and those who have knitted 3 or more hats and want to learn new techniques: purl, reduce stitches, knit “hearts” into the design for a 2 color hat, or learn the linen stitch. Participants will be provided a loom, knitting tools, and yarn.
On March 14 at 6:30 PM beginners will start a hat and finish the brim. You will then take your knitting project home to finish the knitting portion. On March 21 at 6:30 PM beginners will learn how to remove the hat from the loom, cinch the hat closed, and make and attach a pompom.
Experienced knitters have the option to learn one or more of the knitting techniques listed above on either/both dates. Indicate in the signup which technique(s) you want to learn and on which date(s)
