Sarah Gilbertson

Sarah Gilbertson is currently in her sixteenth year of teaching choral music in the Eastern Carver County School District. Currently, she is the director of choral activities at Chanhassen High School in which she directs the Concert Choir, Bel Canto, the TTBB Choir, the 9th Grade Treble Choir (Aurora), the Chamber Singers, and Vox. She received her Masters in Music with an emphasis in Choral Conducting from Northern Arizona University, studying with Dr. Edith Copley. She is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.S. in Music Education. Prior to her graduate studies, she was the choral director at Chaska High School, and Champlin Park High School. She has sung with the Bach Society of Minnesota, Sebastian Singers, and Kantorei. In 2000 she received the “Outstanding Young Choral Director Award” from the MN American Choral Directors Association. She has been on the MN ACDA board as a chair representative and served as the state’s Repertoire and Standards Chair for Women’s Choirs. She currently serves as one of the ACDA of MN Co-Chair for the 9-10 High School Mixed Honor Choir. Sarah is a member of MENC/MMEA, ACDA, Phi Kappa Phi, and the VoiceCare Network. Sarah lives in Chaska with her husband Jon, and her 9 year old twins Esther and Weston.
