On Wednesday, February 15 at 6:30PM, we welcome Cantor Inbal Sharett-Singer, Senior Cantor at Temple Israel in Minneapolis. Join Pastor Matthew and our guest for a conversation about Jewish practices and spirituality as we continue our learning our the religious practices and beliefs of our Jewish neighbors.
We live in a multi-faith world! What might we learn as we encounter the religions right next door. For three weeks, we’ll learn about Muslim and Jewish faith and practice from our in-house Islam expert, Pastor Peter, Pastor Matthew, special guests, and conversation with one another. For many traveling to the Holy Land this spring, this is essential preparation to encounter the rich multi-religious setting of Israel and Palestine. For those of us living in the Southwest Metro, this is essential preparation for living a life of welcome and friendship with our neighbors next door. Bring a friend!
February 1 and 8 will focus on Islam. Pastor Peter Johnson has extensive experience living in the Middle East and earned a Master of Arts Degree in Islamic Studies from Luther Seminary. These two sessions are entitled ‘Islamic Faith and Feeling” and “Islam in the Modern World” respectively.
The reminder of the program will focus on our Jewish neighbors under the leadership of Pastor Matthew.
