Ash Wednesday, March 2— “God is a shepherd who provides”
7:30 AM, 12:00, 5:30 (Wiggle & Worship), 7:00 PM
Text: Psalm 23: 1-2 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.
Although it is perhaps the most familiar of all scripture passages, Psalm 23 still has much to teach us. It offers us challenge as well as comfort and it sets the tone for this year’s Lenten focus for our entire congregation, young and old alike. What does it mean for us to recognize and celebrate how God the Shepherd provides for our every need? How are we being invited and called into a different way of living that runs counter to what our society seems to value the most?
