Worship Services on Isaiah (Page 2)

Advent Worship (10:30 AM Contemporary) “What’s in a Name?”

Text: Isaiah 7:10-14 How often do we say, “Lord, just give us a sign…”? And God says, I have just the sign for you that you need more than anything: Immanuel, God with us. As Christmas approaches, we hear of God’s greatest gift to humanity and we respond to this gift with our devotion, our obedience to God’s will, and our hearts filled with praise.

Advent Worship (10:30 AM Contemporary) “Coming Peace”

Text: Isaiah 2:1-5 We focus on the vision for peace that God has for us when the Prince of Peace comes. The prophet Isaiah paints a picture for us of the coming peace when “nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.” In our weary world that has seen too much of the devastation of war, our hearts cry out: “Come, Lord Jesus!”

But God continues to speak to us in the midst of the daily torrent of heartbreaking news headlines and the harsh realities of sin and hate that seem to have the final word. “Peace” (10:30 AM Blended)

Text: Isaiah 2:1-5 Christ’s coming as the Prince of Peace teaches us about God’s heart and God’s desire for us to live in peace. How are we called in this present age to “beat our swords into ploughshares” as we make a statement for peace through humble service to our neighbors?

“Hope” (10:30 AM Blended)

Text: Isaiah 64:1-9 When we light a candle, we say “no” to the darkness: this is the essence of hope. The prophet Isaiah and John the Baptist both remind us in their own way that God will rend the heavens and come down to us and that he comes to be the very Light of the World for all of us who need real hope.
