COMMISSIONING OF CAMP LEADERS, COUNSELORS, AND STAFF
At camp this summer, do you promise to do your work as a counselor faithfully and prayerfully?
I do, and I ask God to help and guide me.

Do you promise to love each camper equally, like they were your own family?
I do, and I ask God to help and guide me.

Do you promise to remember that it is your real self, not your ideal self, whom God loves and wants to use?
I do, and I ask God to help and guide me.

Though you are a leader at camp, camp is for you too. Do you promise to care for yourself, asking for support whenever you need it?
I do, and I ask God to help and guide me.

Do you promise to remember and to share with our campers that life is beautiful and mysterious, and that it is full of hope, even when that hope feels thin?
I do, and I ask God to help and guide me.

Do you, the community of St. Andrew, promise to uphold and support these leaders, counselors, and staff in these commitments and their ministry?
We do, and we ask God to help and guide us.

READING
Acts 9:17-19

So Ananias went and entered the house. He laid his hands on Saul and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on your way here, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and his sight was restored. Then he got up and was baptized, and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated!

We ask for God’s loving embrace to hold all those who mourn, especially:

  • Carol Hagberg and Marti Kintigh, as Hal Kintigh, who was Carol’s brother and Marti’s husband, died a year ago, unexpectedly

Prayers of Mourning:

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord, hear my voice. Psalm 130:1–2
For I am convinced that neither death nor life… nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38–39
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die’. John 11:25–26
