Description: Medical debt is a crushing financial burden to many US households. THEE Alliance for Medical Debt Relief is an interfaith movement united in the calling to help these families in need by freeing them from this debt. Join St. Andrew in the collective effort with these faith communities to remove a mountain of medical debt for Minnesota families facing financial hardship. Since 2020, gifts of $259,542 has forgiven $37.9 million in debt directly impacting the lives of 29,249 families facing this hardship. Here is how the process works:
- Donate to St. Andrew’s Holiday Giving 2022 (A generous match up to $5,000 is provided by a generous St. Andrew family). Financial gifts can be made here.
- THEE Alliance purchases discounted hospital medical debt through a non-profit, RIP Medical Debt, for pennies on the dollar.
- Families are then notified their debt has been forgiven, tax free, restoring their credit and ability to buy basics, giving hope for their future.
