One of the best kept secrets is that St. Andrew has an Endowment. The endowment was created approximately five years ago with the sale of St. Andrew West. The purpose of the Endowment is to provide St. Andrew with the structure and vehicles to enable charitable giving consistent with our mission of “Living Out Our Faith in Daily Life.” In particular, the grants from the endowment focuses on start-up funding for worthy ministries both within the church and outside in the larger community.
Read this article, written by David Larseth, to see how the Endowment dollars are making an impact worldwide.
Over the last five years almost 20 grants have been made to projects within the church (St. Andrew Manna Meals), in the local community (Feed My Starving Children, Meals on Wheels) and further afield (Friends of Madagascar, St Andrew Seeds of Support, Haiti).
We want more grant requests!
Submit your grant application.
Funds are available and just looking for worthy grant requests to support. The fund’s charter is looking for the following types of requests:
- Extraordinary programs/ministry initiatives within the Congregation
- Outreach into the local community or Synod
- Programs that support church-wide ministries, world hunger and global mission programs
The endowment fund works beyond the day to day operation budgets and new capital projects with gifts that are used for special mission-related work or special areal of the church. Each year a little of the Endowment Fund is used so the remainder is left to grow for the future.
Over time we need to grow the Endowment Fund through donations and bequeaths but right now our focus is to use the funds available today to better “Live Out Our Faith in Daily Life.”
