One of the best kept secrets is that St. Andrew has an endowment. The Mission Endowment Fund was created nearly 10 years ago to provide St. Andrew with the structure and vehicle to enable charitable giving consistent with our mission of “Living Out Our Faith in Daily Life.” In particular, the grants from the Endowment focus on start-up or capital funding for worthy ministries both within the church and outside in the larger community.
Since inception, the Endowment Fund has granted over 30 grants have been made to projects within the church (Manna Meals, Feed My Starving Children MobilePack, and St. Andrew’s Church Anew), in the local community (Feed My Starving Children, Meals on Wheels, Matter, and PROP) and abroad (Friends of Madagascar, St Andrew’s Seeds of Support Mission in Haiti). In the winter of 2023, the Endowment Fund awarded grants to Crescent Cove Hospice for youth and families, Friends of Madagascar prison literacy programs, and Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s (New Orleans) Community Table meal program.
