PRAYERS OF GOD’S PEOPLE

READING
Acts 27:1, 9-11

When it was decided that we were to sail for Italy, they transferred Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion of the Augustan Cohort, named Julius… Since much time had been lost and sailing was now dangerous, because even the Fast had already gone by, Paul advised them, saying, “Sirs, I can see that the voyage will be with danger and much heavy loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives.” But the centurion paid more attention to the pilot and to the owner of the ship than to what Paul said.

CAMP BLESSING/SENDING
These are days for outdoor voices, long sprints, and splashes that sweat and cool like freedom.

These are nights for wild noises and the crackle of bright campfires, eyes that find heaven’s starry banner above.

These are the foods, songs, and spaces that help stick faith to our bones, that locate God’s love so near after all.

For the campers among us, may your lungs be filled with air to sing, pray, shout, and delight in God’s goodness for creation and each of you.

Campers: Thanks be to God.

All: Amen!

For the parents, caring adults, siblings, and all who love these campers, may your spirits rest in the wonder that these children are knowing more of the way of Jesus. May you welcome them home with curiosity about what God is already stirring within them.

Parents & Families: Thanks be to God.

All: Amen!

For this congregation, St. Andrew Lutheran Church, may we be inspired by the twinkle in their eyes, the fresh voices in their songs, and the stories that flow out of this place where the Holy Spirit rustles through the pines.

All: Thanks be to God. Amen!
