PRAYER OF THE DAY
Loving God, you have made each of us a new creation in Christ, and you remove our sins from us as far as the east is from the west. Inspire us by the witness of Mary Magdalene and make us eager to share the good news of Christ. Encourage all who respond to your call to ministry. Open our hearts to receive them as evangelists, pastors, and teachers. We pray this is Jesus’ name, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

READING
John 20:11-13
But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb, and she saw two angels in white sitting where the body of Jesus had been lying, one at the head and the other at the feet. They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.”
The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
