Great Big Little Words (9:00 AM Traditional) “Grace”

Text: Ephesians 2:1-9 What is perhaps the most important “big little word” for us Lutherans? The word “grace” cuts to the heart of our faith and teaches us about the nature of God’s love for us in a way that our hearts need to hear again and again. It’s not called “Amazing Grace” for no reason! This is most certainly true!

Great Big Little Words (10:30 Blended) “Share”

Text: Romans 12:1-2 There is always more than enough to share. But God is calling us to give of ourselves in ways that may take us out of our comfortable lives and into the lives of others. What does it mean to offer ourselves as “living sacrifices”? As we say in our offering prayer: “our selves, our time, and our possessions.”

Great Big Little Words (10:30 AM Blended) “Hope”

Text: Romans 5:1-5 What we need more than anything these days is hope.  In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he tells us precisely where hope comes from and how we can get it.  Romans 5 also tells us that “hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit.”  This is the good news that we’ve been looking for and it is well worth sharing!

Pentecost Sunday (10:30 Blended)

50 days after Easter we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit – crossing all boundaries, bringing the wideness of God’s mercy to places we least expect it. Jesus promises his disciples that they will be accompanied by the Holy Spirit.

The Other Side (10:30 AM Blended) “Livin’ on a Prayer”

Text: John 17:20-26 We have seen in recent years the turmoil that can be caused by deep divisions in our nation and in our world. On “the other side” of this division is the unity that God brings us to through the power of his resurrection and through the Holy Spirit. Even as Christ prays for the unity of all of his people, so we are called to pray and to work for unity in the world.

The Other Side (10:30 Blended) “Remembering…”

Text: John 14:23-29 Just like Jesus’ disciples, we are often faced with fears and feelings of being abandoned by God. Jesus reminds us of the promise of the Holy Spirit and we are given the assurance that on “the other side” of these fears, God has given us a peace that is like nothing that the world can offer us.

Worship “The Other Side”

Text: John 13:31-35 “He who dies with the most toys wins.” This philosophy points to a way of life for many people who either, knowingly or unknowingly, chase after material things and the comforts of this life. On “the other side” of this coin is the example of our Lord who stooped to wash his disciples’ feet and who calls us to live a life marked by servanthood and sacrifice.
