Women’s Groups

The women’s groups at St. Andrew offer excellent opportunities for women to get together and grow in their faith and friendships.


Women’s Golfing

Age Range: Adult women

Days/Times: Tuesdays this fall beginning September 5 at 4pm (approx.)

Description: Looking for a golfing opportunity with other women? Want to meet some new people? Play golf with old friends? Consider being a part of Women’s Golfing groups at St. Andrew. Golfing will be more fun than competitive. Tee times for 9-holes would begin at 4:00 PM each Tuesday at Glen Lake Golf Course (14350 County Road 62, Minnetonka). All are welcome!

Cost: $13 for golfers over 62 years old; $14 for under 62. Cart cost is $8.

Women’s Fall Retreat at Spirit in the Pines Camp (Hackensack, MN)

Age Range: Adult women

Days/Times: Friday, October 6 at 4:00 PM through Sunday, October 8 at 11:00 AM

Description: All women of St. Andrew and their gal friends are invited to attend the annual women’s retreat at Spirit in the Pines entitled “We are God’s Work’s of Art”. Here is the brochure.

The retreat leader this year is Ruth Bachman. She is a mountain climber, award-winning author, educator, survivor advocate, inspiring presenter and woman of faith. Ruth contributes her time, her resources, and her talents, bringing a timeless message to diverse audiences, about the constant in life—change. Ruth will lead us as we explore how change is an external growth process and transition is an internal one; reflect on transition as an ongoing part of our spiritual journey toward becoming the work of art we are created to be; and learn that each woman’s journey is a unique gift to God.

Cost: $110/person.

3rd Saturday Women’s Bible Study

Age Range: Adult women

Days/Times: 3rd Saturday of each month, 8:30–9:30 AM

Description: Come study the Word of the Lord with other women who are passionate about learning. Scripture lessons are read and discussed. No preparations necessary, just bring a Bible. Women of all ages and walks of life are welcome.

Women of the Word (W.O.W.)—AM

Age Range: Adult women

Days/Times: Wednesdays 9:30–11:30 AM

Description: A women’s Bible study of faith and fellowship. Each week includes large group lecture, small group discussion and weekly homework assignments. Name of Study: God’s Story—Our Story, Old Testament Promise ($20) Written and designed by Pastor Matthew—We will be on the lookout for God’s promises in the Old Testament, and discover how they draw us into the story of God’s promises for us and for the whole world. September 13th through December 13th, 2017. A new study will begin in January 2018. For beginners through advanced! Childcare available with registration—$10 donation per week.

Women of the Word (W.O.W.)—PM

Age Range: Adult women

Days/Times: Thursdays 6:30–8:15 PM, starting September 14

Description: A women’s Bible study of faith and fellowship using DVD, workbook lessons, and small group discussions. For beginners and advanced! The evening group will use a Bible study called “Discerning the Voice of God” written by Priscilla Shirer.

Band of Sisters

Age Range: 20–40-Something aged women

Days/Times: Thursday nights from 7:00–8:30 PM at Lunds and Byerly’s cafe area, Eden Prairie. First session will start Sept 14. OR
Friday mornings from 9:30–11:30 AM at St. Andrew in room 206. Childcare provided during AM group for $8/family per week. Scholarships available. First session will start on September 14.

Description: To connect 20–40-something aged women to Christ and to one another through book discussions and Bible studies. Focused on building authentic relationships, fun, and spiritual growth.

50+ Followers

Age Range: 50+ Aged women

Days/Times: 1st and 3rd Mondays each month, 6:30–7:45 PM, beginning September 18

Description: Providing opportunities for building and nurturing supportive relationships among 50+ aged women through Christian study and service—with lots of fun and laughs in the process! Join us this fall as we read and view an Animate DVD which covers the topics of Prayer, Food, Worship, Sacraments, Money, Service and Community. The book is optional. The group will select a book for the second half of the year.

Sewing the Word

Age Range: Adult women

Days/Times: Wednesdays from September–May, 9:15 AM–Noon

Description: Would you like to learn how to quilt or how to help out with the quilt group? We can use help with cutting, pinning, pressing, or sewing. We are happy to teach you. Our quilts have gone to the orphanage in Honduras, Haiti, Florida, Texas, battered women’s shelters, police departments, Children’s Hospital, St. Joseph Home, PROP, and many other places.

W.I.N.G.S. (Women in God’s Spirit) Service Team

Age Range: Adult women

Days/Times: Meets as necessary

Description: WINGS mission is to provide the community of St. Andrew opportunities for spiritual enrichment, service and fellowship through the planning of service projects, special events and activities. We serve at Feed My Starving Children, pack food for Messiah Lutheran Church, create baskets for Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter, and sponsor the Women’s Fall Retreat at Spirit in the Pines, and coordinate Taste of Scandinavia, and the Upper Room.
