Worship Services on Psalm (Page 2)

Worship (9:00 AM Traditional) “Authentic Life”

Text: Psalm 139:1-3, 7-10 Isn’t it nice to be around dear friends where we can “just be ourselves.”  What is at our core?  Do we even know?  If so, do we approve or are we on the fence when it comes to an authentic life?  The Lord, who searches us and knows us, is calling us to life an authentic life that is rooted in God’s love so that we can serve and lift up others.

Worship | Lent (7:00 PM) “Intercepted and Redirected”

Jonah 1:17, Psalm 139:1-2, 7-10 Encounters with God often come in the form of disruptions to everyday life. They take us off course and throw us off balance. But in many cases, disruptions have the potential to bring us into a sacred encounter with God and our neighbor in ways that we might not expect–or in ways that might show us something new about ourselves. The story of Jonah invites us to wonder whether and how the God of Jonah…

Worship (10:30 AM Contemporary) “Reading the Bible Will Change Your Life”

Psalm 78: 1-4 A book just sitting on a shelf will not enter our hearts, minds, and souls. God’s holy word in the Bible is meant to be read, studied, questioned, analyzed, and then, live out in daily life. The fact of the matter is, the Bible is complex and sometimes just plain hard to understand. That should not make us afraid to crack it open and see what the Holy Spirit does with the Word of God.

Worship (10:30 AM Contemporary) “Here”

Text: Psalm 122:1-2, 6-9 What do we want and need from this place? God’s house is built upon relationships but also upon God’s faithfulness to us. As we begin a new program year together, we come together to be fed spiritually, to be both challenged and comforted by God’s Word. And we come to grow in our faith as we live out our faith in daily life!

Lent | Worship “God Pursues Us with Grace”

Text: Psalm 23:6a God provides blessing upon blessing, grace upon grace. And Jesus made it clear that we do not choose God but, rather, God chooses us. So how then is God pursuing us with grace and love and what difference does this make in our daily lives?

Lent | Worship “God gives us a place of honor”

Text: Psalm 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. God provides a place for us and it is a place of honor. What does the ancient world’s culture of honor and shame have to do with our life as 21st century Christians and who’s invited to that table that God prepares anyway?

Lent | Worship “God is With Us”

Text: Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff— they comfort me. God provides a ministry of presence that sees us through life’s most dark and challenging times. What does the cross of Christ teach us about God’s promise to show up in suffering?
