Lenten Series: Love in a World Divided
February 22–March 22 | 9:00 & 10:30 AM
We are living in a moment when division feels almost unavoidable. Families fracture over beliefs, communities splinter along cultural and political lines, and even the church is not immune to the forces that pull people apart. Fear, suspicion, and conflict seem to shape the air we breathe. Yet into this fractured world, the gospel speaks a different word—a word of love, peace, justice and unity.
This series, Love in a world divided, invites us to explore what it means to follow Jesus in a divided world. We begin by celebrating with Guest Preacher Joe Davis the beauty of unity that doesn’t demand uniformity, but honors the diverse gifts God has woven into the body of Christ. Next, we will acknowledge the reality of division that happened even in Jesus’ own household. We will then confront the walls humanity has built throughout history and discover how Christ tears them down. We will listen for the voice of Jesus speaking peace into chaos and will consider how justice and mercy together can mend what is broken.
This isn’t a series that ignores differences, or pretends conflicts don’t exist. It is about learning to live faithfully in the midst of them, and to be people who embody Christ’s reconciling love in a world desperate for hope.
As we journey together through these weeks, may God open our hearts and soften our divisions to shape us into a community that reflects the love of Christ—a love strong enough to heal a divided world.

The Spirit brings faith and healing, no matter the challenges that are faced in the world. Join us for these services of peaceful music, thoughtful reflections, and prayerful liturgy. Holy Week & Easter

Palm Sunday | March 29
9:00 & 10:30 AM
“The Story of Love”
The world-changing events of Holy Week begin with Palm Sunday, when Jesus courageously enters Jerusalem with purpose and, more importantly, compassion for the city that will turn on him. Cries of “hosanna” by the crowds turn to cries of “crucify him”. We hear again the greatest story ever told and we join in worship with all creation: if we were silent, even the stones would cry out to sing of this divine love for humanity.

Maundy Thursday | April 2
6:00 PM
“Love is Food”
It has often been said that “food is love.” Jesus gives new meaning to this when he shares with his disciples a meal with bread and wine (remembered as Holy Communion). He unites us around a new commandment that shapes the way we live in this world—“love one another as I have loved you”. Join us at 6:00 PM for a unique expression of Maundy Thursday worship as we gather in the Fellowship Hall for “dinner church”!

Good Friday | April 3
12:00, 7:00 PM
“Love is Finished?”
The Story of Love continues with the dark events that shook the world and tore the temple curtain. Jesus is crucified to demonstrate God’s great love for us all. We remember that it is always darkest before dawn. We have two opportunities for worship:
- 12:00 PM Traditional worship with reflections from our pastors, beloved hymns, and stirring music from soloist Josh Eidem, Tim Graf, and violinist Rachel Calvert.
- 7:00 PM The story is told through reflections from our pastors, and powerful music from our Canticle Choir, Chamber Choir, professional orchestra, and soloists Elliana Meier and Alan Bach. Join us and invite your neighbors and friends for this unforgettable worship experience.
