Thank You — A Celebration of Our Volunteers
The photos here tell a story. Look at the faces — the laughter, the focused hands, the quiet moments of connection. These are your neighbors, your fellow members of St. Andrew, showing up year after year to make this community what it is. This spring, we gathered to celebrate them at our Volunteer Appreciation event, and the joy in that room was a reminder of something we never want to take for granted: this church runs on love, and love shows up wearing a name tag and carrying a coffee pot.
To every volunteer who served this past year — thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You gave your Sunday mornings, your weekday evenings, your particular gifts and your quiet faithfulness. You greeted strangers until they became friends. You set tables, served communion, cleaned up after the last guest went home, and did it all again the next time. The ministry of St. Andrew is inseparable from your ministry, and we are so deeply grateful.
As we move into summer, the work — and the joy — continues. There are several meaningful ways to keep serving right here within our walls.
Communion Servers are needed at both Sunday services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. Serving communion is one of the most intimate acts of hospitality we offer — placing the bread and cup in the hands of our neighbors and saying, in effect, you are welcome here, you are remembered, you belong. If you feel called to this ministry, we would love to have you.
Coffee and Donut Servers are needed on Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 10:45am. This might sound simple, but anyone who has lingered over a cup of coffee after worship knows what that time means. It is where friendships deepen, where visitors feel seen, and where the informal community of St. Andrew comes alive. Your presence at that table makes all of it possible.
And this summer, we are also gathering on Wednesday evenings for our Summer of Joy socials — a chance to enjoy good food and good company together. Volunteers are needed to help serve and clean up on June 17, July 22, and August 12, from 4:45 to 6:30pm. These evenings are a gift to our congregation, and the people who make them happen are a gift too.
Whether you are a longtime volunteer or someone who has been quietly wondering if there is a place for you — there is. No experience is required, only a generous heart. We hope to see you this summer, serving alongside one another in the beautiful, ordinary, and holy work of community.
