Are you looking for ways to love and serve your neighbors? We encourage you to support one or more of St. Andrew’s ministry partners in the days and weeks ahead. Read below to find a place that you can provide your time and resources. The information on this page is updated regularly so stop back and visit frequently.

If you are unable to volunteer time or drop off in-kind donations you can donate to the St. Andrew Benevolence Fund. We use these funds to directly support our community partners.

Messiah Lutheran / Community Bridge

Packing Food Baskets – Offer your time to pack Easter food baskets to feed our neighbors in Minneapolis. All that is needed is your time and willingness to either pack or deliver food baskets. Sign-up to volunteer. Then travel to Messiah Lutheran/Community Bridge, located inside the Lutheran Social Services building, in Minneapolis on the day you have offered your time.

Forest Hills Elementary School

Forest Hills Team Member – Be a part of the Forest Hills Support team. The St. Andrew Forest Hills team provides meals to staff, collects and delivers supplies, and helps with providing for the needs of both students and staff. You can help with as many or as few events as you wish. Contact Pastor Kristin Skare with your questions at pastorkristin@standrewlu.org.

Discovery Room Helpers – Children need hope. Discovery Room helpers assist teachers in activity rooms that empower students to explore their interests like art, science, music, and so much more. If you are interested contact Pastor Kristin Skare and she will connect you to school staff. A background check is required for this opportunity.

Augustana Lutheran Church in Partnership with Community Emergency Service

Community Meal Support – Augustana Lutheran Church provides bi-weekly meals to the neighbors who live in the Phillips Neighborhood. Sign up to offer your time to help set-up, serve, and clean-up.

Donate a Meal or Funds for Augustana Lutheran’s Food Shelf – Any amount you donate will help fund groceries and meals for our vulnerable neighbors living in the Phillips Neighborhood in Minneapolis. You can donate directly on their website.

Spanish Speaking individuals Needed to Assist at the Front Desk of the Food Shelf -Having a Spanish-speaking presence at the front desk helps ensure that neighbors can walk through the doors, be welcomed with dignity, and receive support in a way that feels safe, respectful, and clear.

They are especially in need of volunteers during the following times:

  • Tuesday–Thursday, 1:00–4:00pm (primary need)
  • Tuesday–Thursday, 4:00–6:00pm
  • Friday, 1:00–3:00pm
  • Weekday mornings 9:00am-12:00pm specifically to answer phones.

Welcome Fund – Minneapolis Area Synod

St. Andrew Lutheran Church is part of the more than 150 congregations that make-up the Minneapolis Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. The Minneapolis Synod has established a Welcome Fund that provides direct financial support to immigrant communities in Minneapolis. This fund supports things like rental assistance, legal assistance, and education. Donate to this fund.

Immigrant Defense Network

Established in 2025, the Immigrant Defense Network (IDN) is a network of over 90 immigrant, labor, legal, faith, and community organizations dedicated to protecting and advancing the constitutional rights of immigrant communities across Minnesota. In the face of ongoing and escalating threats to immigrant rights, IDN delivers trusted information, referrals to legal support, and coordinated educational activities. Braver Angels

You are invited to an evening with Bill Doherty, Professor Emeritus of the University of Minnesota and Co-Founder of Braver Angels, on Monday, April 20 at 6:30 pm at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Braver Angels aims to reduce political polarization across American Society. It envisions an America with respectful embrace of political disagreements, where civic friendship flourishes and competing perspectives strengthen our nation. Braver Angels strives to bring people together to build relationships across the political spectrum and strengthen your community. Come for an evening of education and hope. Eden Prairie Neighbor Support

Food Delivery – Many families are in need of having groceries delivered to their homes. Join the Indivisible Eden Prairie Area Facebook Group and search for delivery links to sign-up.
