Are you looking for ways to love and serve your neighbors? We encourage you to support one or more of St. Andrew’s ministry partners in the days and weeks ahead. Read below to find a place that you can provide your time and resources. The information on this page is updated regularly so stop back and visit frequently.

Augustana Lutheran Church in Partnership with Community Emergency Service
Volunteer to Serve Meals - Share your time this summer by volunteering your time with our partner church, Augustana Lutheran Church, and help serve Wednesday Night Community Meals. Community Meals are held two times a month and serve our neighbors in the Phillips Neighborhood. You are invited to volunteer twice a month, once a month or just once a year. Any time you are able to provide is both needed and a gift. Summer meal dates are June 10, June 24; July 8, July 22; August 12, August 26; September 9, September 23.

If all the volunteer spots are filled for any given Wednesday night, no worries-we want you to come. Augustana will send out communications to volunteers with detailed information prior to each dinner. Contact Pastor Kristin and she will add you to list. Questions? Donate a Meal or Funds for Augustana Lutheran’s Food Shelf – Any amount you donate will help fund groceries and meals for our vulnerable neighbors living in the Phillips Neighborhood in Minneapolis. You can donate directly on their website.

Forest Hills Elementary School
School Supply Drive - It’s time for our annual Forest Hills school supply drive. Let’s join together to help make 2026-2027 a great year for students. Our drive begins Sunday, July 26 and runs through Sunday, August 23.
St. Andrew partners each year with Forest Hills Elementary School to ensure that every student is equipped with a backpack and school supplies needed for a successful start of the school year. We hope to assist 120 students this year.Watch for details in upcoming congregational communications. View the grade specific shopping list
Forest Hills Team Member – Be a part of the Forest Hills Support team. The St. Andrew Forest Hills team provides meals to staff, collects and delivers supplies, and helps with providing for the needs of both students and staff. You can help with as many or as few events as you wish. Contact Pastor Kristin Skare with your questions at pastorkristin@standrewlu.org.
Discovery Room Helpers – Children need hope. Discovery Room helpers assist teachers in activity rooms that empower students to explore their interests like art, science, music, and so much more. If you are interested contact Pastor Kristin Skare and she will connect you to school staff. A background check is required for this opportunity.
PROP Food Support Community
Volunteer at PROP – Whether you want to deliver groceries, stock shelves, or greet people PROP Food Shelves would love your help. Visit the PROP website for current opportunities.
Welcome Fund – Minneapolis Area Synod
St. Andrew Lutheran Church is part of the more than 150 congregations that make-up the Minneapolis Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. The Minneapolis Synod has established a Welcome Fund that provides direct financial support to immigrant communities in Minneapolis. This fund supports things like rental assistance, legal assistance, and education. Donate to this fund.
Habitat for Humanity
St. Andrew Habitat for Humanity Build Day is July 29, 2026. This year the build will be in Prior Lake and we our volunteers will serve from 8:30am-3:30pm.
St. Andrew partners with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for families needing permanent housing. Volunteers need no special skills. General construction experience is helpful. All appropriate training is provided. Look for more information and register on our website. Go to “Events” and search for Habitat for Humanity.

Red Cross Blood Drive at St. Andrew
We are proud to again partner with the American Red Cross. Each pint of blood collected can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. What a great way to pay it forward and make an impact on people in our community and across the country.

Community Emergency Service
St. Andrew and Augustana Lutheran Church partners with Community Emergency Services to feed and provide resources for our neighbors in the Minneapolis Phillips Neighborhood. There are many ways you can support this ministry with your time or financial resources.

Community Bridge
Come join the opportunity to pack food baskets and/or deliver food baskets to our neighbors in the Phillips Neighborhood during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter season. Community Bridge partners with St. Andrew and other area churches to bring support and care to neighbors. Look for congregational communications as we near these seasons to sign up.

Zion Baptist Church
St. Andrew Lutheran Church partners with Zion Baptist for two holiday events that serve our neighbors in North Minneapolis.
Thanksgiving Dinner-Share your time serving Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day to our North Minneapolis neighbors. People sign up for shifts from 10am-2pm (Meal is served 11am-1 pm). Mark your calendars now to bring joy to people this Thanksgiving.
All Our Holiday Giving- St. Andrew works in collaboration with Zion Lutheran Church and other community organizations to distribute food, mittens and hats, coats, books by black authors, and of toys to our North Minneapolis neighbors at a special Holiday event called, All Our Holiday Giving.
Volunteers are needed on Friday to set up and prepare for the event. Volunteers are needed on Saturday to assist with distribution of hats, mitten, coats, books, gifts, and food. 2026 dates are yet to be determined.
