Mixed Groups

Join one of St. Andrew’s mixed groups and get to know other members and build lasting friendships. There are many different options to pick from; Bible studies, social groups, educational seminars, and more. St. Andrew mixed groups have something for everyone.

 

Wine and the Word

Age Range: Adults

Days/Times: Determined by individual small groups

Description: Wine and the Word is a home-based small group learning and fellowship opportunity for all members of St. Andrew looking to deepen relationships and their faith. Meet with a group of 6–10 people for one of three options:

  1. One Question. Simple conversation starter for information and friendly conversation.
  2. Faith Talk. Short video by a pastor with conversation about living faith in daily life.
  3. Difficult Questions. Dig deep with challenging topics and thought provoking questions.

You choose which is right for your group. We challenge everyone to join or host a wine and the word group!

Parenting Forum

Age Range: Parents of middle school and high school kids

Days/Times: Various evening times

Description: Parenting is a forum for parents to receive experienced and faith-based counsel on raising middle and high school youth in today’s complicated world. Topics include “What is on Your Kid’s Phone?” and “How to Talk to Your Kid and Get Them to Respond”. Large group presentations and small group discussions are planned.

Faith-based Mindfulness Meditation

Age Range: Teenager–adults

Days/Times: Oct. 25, Nov. 1, and Nov. 8, 2017 from 6:30–8:00 PM

Leaders: A Lutheran pastor, a Presbyterian minister, and a Catholic meditation professional

Description: Stress has become America’s #1 health problem. Would you like to learn some faith-based techniques to counter daily anxiety and stress? Mindfulness is all the rage as an anecdote to daily stress and anxiety. Learn practical techniques to increase the relaxation and decrease  stress through spiritual practice. Discover how meditation is woven into the history of our Christian tradition. The series will include lecture and time for practical application.

Early Risers Bible Study

Age Range: Mixed adults

Days/Times: Weekly on Wednesday mornings, 7:00–8:00 AM

Description: Come for a lively discussion and to dive into the Word of God. On September 13 we begin a study on the book of Daniel.

Pastor’s Thursday AM Bible Study on Book of Romans

Age Range: Mixed adults

Days/Times: Weekly Thursday mornings from 9:00–10:30 AM beginning September 14

Description: A Bible study led by the pastors to foster community, spiritual growth, and prayer support. This fall we will be digging into Paul’s Letter to the Romans. Join us even if you have not yet participated. Drop-ins are always welcome. Bring your Bible. No experience necessary.

St. Andrew Book Group

Age Range: Mixed adults

Days/Times: One Monday a month from 1:00–2:15 PM and 7:00–8:15 PM, drop-ins welcome

Description: A drop-in fellowship group for those who like to read and discuss a wide range of book selections.

Be Still and Know…Beginning Yoga and Devotion

Age Range: Mixed adults

Days/Times: Weekly on Thursday from 11:00 AM–Noon, beginning September 14

Description: Open to adult men and women. Each session opens with scripture and closes with a devotion and prayer. No previous yoga experience necessary. Participants wear yoga type stretchy pants with a semi-fitted top that allows for movement, and bring a yoga mat or beach towel. Classes are taught by an experienced certified yoga instructor. You are welcome to participate when you can.

Prime Timers

Age Range: 55+ Mixed adults

Description: Fun and educational monthly activities for seniors. Join Prime Timers for luncheons, outside speakers, trips to museums, theaters, and other fun places!
