God our creator,

READING
Psalm 2:1-6, 10-12
Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and his anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath and terrify them in his fury, saying, “I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.” Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear; with trembling kiss his feet, or he will be angry, and you will perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Happy are all who take refuge in him.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

Matthew 14:6-11
But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced before the company, and she pleased Herod so much that he promised on oath to grant her whatever she might ask. Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.” The king was grieved, yet out of regard for his oaths and for the guests, he commanded it to be given; he sent and had John beheaded in the prison. His head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, who brought it to her mother.
The Word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.

CAMP BLESSING & SENDING
Leader: These are days for outdoor voices, long sprints, and splashes that sweat and cool like freedom. These are nights for wild noises and the crackle of bright campfires, eyes that find heaven's starry banner above.
Leader: For the campers among us, may your lungs be filled with air to sing, pray, shout, and delight in God's goodness for creation and each of you.
Campers: Thanks be to God!
Leader: For the parents, caring adults, siblings, and all who love these campers, may your spirits rest in the wonder that these children are knowing more of the way of Jesus. May you welcome them home with curiosity about what God is already stirring within them.
Parents & Families: Thanks be to God.
Leader: For this congregation, St. Andrew Lutheran Church, may we be inspired by the twinkle in their eyes, the fresh voices in their songs, and the stories that flow out of this place where the Holy Spirit rustles through the pines.
All: Thanks be to God. Amen!
