It’s radical—it’s giving—it’s “Radical Giving” in Lent at St. Andrew
In mid-February, the Benevolence Team granted a bold request to distribute sums of cash to members of the congregation with two requests:
- to simply give the money away by March 31st
- to share your story with us in pictures, video, or narrative
We have NEVER done something as radical as this before. Imagine how you can creatively grow what’s in your envelope before you give it away. Maybe you know someone or a group of people who might match what’s inside. Imagine even more the ways you can creatively give away or surprise someone with this gift. It might be as simple as buying a cup of coffee for someone standing next to you in line at Caribou. Or maybe you buy a bouquet of flowers to brighten their day. Or help stock the food shelves at PROP. Rather than using it for ministry at St. Andrew, it is our hope that you truly make this a benevolent gift by simply giving it to someone or to some cause outside of St. Andrew.
And, we want to hear your story so we can share your story. Tell us how it went. What did it feel like to be able to give this away? What did the person say when they received this gift? Take a photo. Then, send it in to Jack Lynch at email@example.com or 920.655.1664 by Sunday, March 31st! Each week we will share your stories in worship or through social media.
