DESCRIPTION:Come join other volunteers from your St. Andrew family helping senior members of our community for a morning of leaf raking with Senior Community Services’ HOME program (Household & Outside Maintenance for Elderly). What better way to spend a beautiful fall day than with family and friends outside among all the brightly colored leaves?\nWe are looking to form teams of 8-10 volunteers to be assigned to each home. The more people who sign up\, the more seniors we can help! These assignments will be done ahead of time\, so please make any grouping requests as you sign-up. Volunteers 7 years and up are welcome. Those under 16 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.\nMeet at St. Andrew to receive home assignment. Volunteers will bring the muscle and their rakes; the people we help will provide the smiles and encouragement. DESCRIPTION:Queer Faith Alliance is a small group learning together about how we as individuals\, families\, and the church can be fully welcoming and inclusive to the LBGTQ+ community. It is the responsibility of the Church to affirm all people and celebrate orientations and gender expressions that have often been targeted. When we work in community to feel God’s all-embracing love\, we are stronger for it.\nFind support and encouragement while discussing current events\, reading articles and books\, and hearing guest speakers. Members of the group are open and accepting. Many are LGBTQ+ and/or have family members who have come out and are needing love and support in navigating their life’s circumstances.\nThis is a safe place to talk about our desires for acceptance and openly talk about how society in some places still stands in opposition to the people we care about. Together\, Queer Faith Alliance advocates for affirmation\, belonging\, and embrace for all of God’s beloved children within St. Andrew\, our community\, and the world.

DESCRIPTION:Your smile and helping hands are all that is needed to serve meals at Augustana Lutheran Church in the Phillips Neighborhood in Minneapolis. St. Andrew helps serve meals twice a month. You may volunteer once or volunteer regularly – any time you give is a gift to our neighbors. Volunteers help set-up\, serve\, and clean-up.
