Luther 2017: Celebrating Martin Luther and the Gifts of the Reformation; Prague Extension Planned
Join Pastor Peter and Michele Johnson on a special, one-of-a-kind 500 Anniversary of the Reformation trip to Germany from September 21st to September 30, 2017. An optional extension to Prague, Czech Republic is provided from September 30th to October 3rd. Registration is now open to non-members of St. Andrew.
Alongside friends and members of our St. Andrew community, visit Berlin, Wittenberg, Leipzig, Eisleben, Erfurt, Buchenwald and Munich for famous Octoberfest festivities.
The trip will focus on the sites of Martin Luther and the Reformation while also enjoying the many gifts of German history, culture and music. Explore the complex history of German Reformation period, the Cold War and German unification. Discover the teaching and home of World War II era Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Visit the charming, old village of Rothenburg. See the churches and homes of Johan Sabastian Bach and Richard Wagner.
This is a study tour. There will be several opportunities for learning and fellowship to fully prepare trip participants for the trip. Examples include proposed classes on Martin Luther and the Reformation, orientation sessions with fellow trip participants lead by Pastor Peter and Michele as well as other notable people, and a visit to the Minneapolis Institute of Art for the Luther at Home exhibit in the fall of 2016.
Tour includes all transportation, eight nights accommodation, most meals, tour manager, deluxe motorcoach transportation, and all tipping and taxes.
Travel extension to neighboring city of interest is being explored. Details announced soon.
Cost per person is $4,100 (from Minneapolis, double occupancy). Prague extension is $1,000 per person.
