This summer, something remarkable is breaking ground in our community. St. Andrew has had a long-standing relationship with PROP and we are pleased to be a Lead Sponsor for this incredible new way to serve the community. PROP is building a new Food Locker program that will change the way our neighbors access food, dignity, and hope.
A Congregation That Leads With Generosity
You Matter. You Belong. We Care. isn't just something we say, it is a part of every action we take inside our walls and outside in our community. We also know that there are organizations that are much better at providing the services that are needed and the best way we can make an impact is by providing funding to support their great work. That's exactly what's happening now, thanks to a $38,000 leadership gift from St. Andrew, we are helping fund PROP's new temperature-controlled food lockers.
These lockers will give neighbors a private, flexible way to pick up fresh, healthy food—any day, any time—removing the barriers of work schedules, transportation, and stigma that keep too many families from getting the help they need.
Why This Matters to Us
Hunger in our community is often invisible. It's the parent skipping a meal so their kids can eat, the senior choosing between groceries and medication, the neighbor too proud—or too busy—to walk through a food shelf door during business hours.
As a congregation, we believe that meeting people with dignity is just as important as meeting their needs. That's what drew us to this project: a solution built around real life, not around anyone else's schedule.
This is not the first time or place we have assisted with these efforts. St. Andrew has also funded similar food storage lockers at Community Emergency Services in the Phillips Neighborhood in Minneapolis. We have witnessed the benefits and dignity they have provided to our neighbors for the past two years.
A Celebration Worth Sharing
On July 22nd, Pastor Peter gathered with PROP staff, community partners, and neighbors to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the Food Locker program.

The Impact of Our Generosity
Because of this investment—and the generosity of donors like you—PROP will soon be able to:
- Serve an additional 15–30 neighbors every day
- Offer food access at least five days a week, beyond PROP's normal service hours
- Reach approximately 300 more visits each month once the program is fully underway
This is what's possible when a community decides to lead with generosity.
Made Possible by Faith That Welcomes. Love That Reaches.
This gift didn't happen in isolation—it's a direct result of the generosity already flowing through our 50th Anniversary Appeal, Faith That Welcomes. Love That Reaches.
As part of the Appeal's Ministry Partnership priority, our congregation committed to expanding love beyond our own walls—reaching neighbors experiencing hunger, walking alongside communities in need, and putting faith into action in tangible ways. The PROP Food Locker investment is one of the very first ways that commitment is being lived out.
In other words: because members of our congregation said yes to the Anniversary Appeal, PROP's neighbors will soon have a safer, more dignified way to access food. Every gift to the Appeal helps make moments like this groundbreaking possible.

Keep the Momentum Going
Construction is underway now, with the food lockers set to be installed later this summer and the program launching in early fall. But this is only the beginning—and we hope you'll join us in carrying this momentum forward.
If this gift inspired you, there are two ways to keep the impact growing:
- Give to the Anniversary Appeal to help fuel future outreach efforts like this one
- Support the Food Locker Program directly to help PROP sustain and grow this specific program
Together, we're not just building food lockers—we're building a community where every neighbor has a dignified way to get the food they need, and living out what it means to be a church whose faith welcomes and whose love reaches.
