PRAYER OF THE DAY
Creator God,
You have created us from the dust of the earth and then elevated us to be a little lower than the angels. Make our hearts into good soil that is ready to receive all that you have for us so that we can be fruitful for the sake of your eternal glory, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Matthew 13:1-9
That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat beside the sea. Such great crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat there, while the whole crowd stood on the beach. And he told them many things in parables, saying: “Listen! A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell on a path, and the birds came and ate them up. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and they sprang up quickly, since they had no depth of soil. But when the sun rose, they were scorched, and since they had no root, they withered away. Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds fell on good soil and brought forth grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. If you have ears, hear!”

Leader: These are days for outdoor voices, long sprints, and splashes that sweat and cool like freedom. These are nights for wild noises and the crackle of bright campfires, eyes that find heaven's starry banner above.
Leader: For the campers among us, may your lungs be filled with air to sing, pray, shout, and delight in God's goodness for creation and each of you.
Campers: Thanks be to God!
Leader: For the parents, caring adults, siblings, and all who love these campers, may your spirits rest in the wonder that these children are knowing more of the way of Jesus. May you welcome them home with curiosity about what God is already stirring within them.
